Easily more than 5 minutes. I didn't see the person who killed him before I was there, but I still waited just over 5 minutes for him to spawn and when I arrived there wasn't even an corpse. Comment by Usirion I think there is a problem with this quest : I got it at level 47, and the target was also 47, but the trash mob Twilight Flamereaver are lvl 54! How are you suppose to get inside get to him? I had to die and respawn my way through this!
Comment by polyfayzik The Cave Entrance is at Vyral is located at Comment by Bigchompy If you go into Silithus for the 7. This isn't part of the new questline and can be ignored. He probably appears on the map because the npc is still tucked away in his cave or whatever underneath all the cosmetic changes that blasted the surface of Silithus.
Comment by Xoxotl For all intents and purposes, this is a PvP quest as your main competition won't be the mobs or the quest target itself, but other players camping the re-spawn site in order to get the kill so they, in turn, can complete the quest. The quest target has a re-spawn timer of over five 5 minutes and there's a good chance you'll have to contend with other players spamming AOE in order to tag him first. If there are other players in your faction, try to group up with them to increase everybody's chances of successfully killing the mob and getting quest credit, especially if there are opposing faction players there.
Otherwise, don't be surprised if you're stuck here for a while. Vyral the Vile. Do you have his signet ring? You've done it! Vyral is killed! This can only mean doom for the Twilight Hammer's operations in Silithus. There may be more of them scurrying about, but the blow you dealt to the cult today is one from which they will not easily recover. This was peanuts. Typical hunter solo survivability straight out of the "be a sexeh huntah"-guidebook. Outside and first end of cave? Just kill them. At the ledge you could keep walking and clearing everything like hunters do so well or take the shortcut and jump down. After landing, run up the slope and feign right in the corner so you'll be out of aggro range from Boss and from spawn halfway slope. Wait for pat to pass and go.. Then just unload on the boss, dont bother with any tricks, he goes down fast.
After that do whatever you want with his guards, could also just feign and heal up. I think it's helpful in situations where the solution isn't obvious. Other helpful comments are "bring FR gear" or "the respawns come fast" or "drop down to avoid having to clear the whole place". That being said, this quest is essentially single pulls of mobs at a time yeah, sure, fast respawn , followed by a two mob fight at the end since one of the guards can be pulled without aggroing.
The way to the boss has single mobs. Sure, they run, but so what? You've never seen that before now?
Second, if you don't know how to handle more than one mob with your class by the time you're level 20 or so depending on when you get your CC abilities , you need to spend less time reading thottbot posts and more time practicing taking on multiple mobs. How about you drop a freezing trap, have pet tank while you kill the boss, then kill the other one. If things get out of hand, kill one and feign.
Sap one, kill the other one, then kill the sapped guy, or just loot the boss and vanish. Hell, vanish if things get out of hand, bandage up, and then go do the same thing! For the love of God, people, if you don't know a strategy for dealing with 1, 2, 3 mobs solo by this point, especially ones that aren't immune to crowd control, I don't know how you even were able to make it to Silithus to begin with.
EDIT: Just saw in the quest description that it's obtained at level 60, so you do actually have to be level 60 to do this, making it even more sad if you need help. Comment by Thottbot so i might've f'ed up a little and pulled everyone at Vyral, plus an add i didn't see behind me. I didn't do so well trying to stealth through, but why not kill your way in?
They drop texts and armors pretty frequently. Sunscale Helmet, lawl. Died twice- first fighting two Flamereavers, second when I accidentally pulled the second Overlord guarding Vyral just after killing the first one.
Aside from that I had little trouble. You're going to need one of three things to make it through here- high damage output to kill the Flamereavers before their flame aura decimates your HP, as well as to avoid the quick respawns , fire-resistance gear to negate the fire damage or dependable healing.
If you're not capable of killing one of the Flamereavers inside of twenty seconds, you're probably going to run into trouble with respawns. By the way, I killed Vyral and got his signet before the second Overlord finished me off. Vyral himself is a pushover if you focus on him. Comment by Thottbot This quest is probably easier with 41 pt talents out now since patch, but with L60 BM spec hunter, I just killed my way to vyril, sent in pet on vyril and just killed him and the 2 adds.
No frost traps or anything fancy. Was using a L53 blue gun and a bunch of green armor at the time, so not like I was uber equipped or anything. The necklace reward was actually an upgrade for me, that's how bad my equipment is hehe. Comment by Allakhazam Soloed him today on Earthen Ring.
For you Rogue's just sneak to the back of the cave and kill the furthest Twilight mob from Vyle first. After that sap the remaining Twilight mob and then go to town on Vyle. Remember to have Mind numbing poison on your main and dont forget to kick him. He will try and run away when he gets low on health so don't let him get to far away from you. Comment by Allakhazam I made it into the cave solo, died once. Had used the last flash powder on the way in.
Died on the way out. Either it's bugged or its a random drop. Comment by Allakhazam As said before, kill the far one, sap his friend, complete the quest. Easy as that. Comment by Allakhazam Soloed as a 60 warlock.
I had a soulstone up, but i only used it on the way out. Just watch out for the adds he brings. If you are careful you can pull him and only bring one add. The real pain is reaching him, he is easily defeated once you get there.
Comment by Allakhazam This also awards you Cenarion Circle rep. Comment by Allakhazam xp and rep. Comment by Allakhazam WTF Is this Q bugged.. I killed him twice but no ring Hate when they break a already working Q The Q is easy i soloed him twice without even getting close to a wipe EDIT: Just killed him 3rd time EDIT: Hehe just realished that i was in a raid Kill Vyral with a smite or two, kill other add Comment by Allakhazam 60 level hunter with 59 pet.
Handled most of the mobs of the time, though pet died whenever we encountered two flamereavers. Got to the boss, zipped him and FD'ed. Raised pet, killed one overlord, looted the boss, then hearthed out while pet faced off with several adds and remaining overlord. Comment by Allakhazam How can you sneak in?
The Flamereavers have fire shield auras. Comment by Allakhazam was wandering around as a 56 druid with a 56 shaman Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd as a sixty druid. Getting out after I pissed everyone off was the only hard part. Comment by Allakhazam You'll want a group.
The mobs here aren't that tough, but there are a lot of them and they respawn quickly. Just enter the cave and fight your way to the back. He's on a platform that will be on your right once you get into the cave a ways. He dies fast to a 5-man, so the only challenge is the respawn rate on the Twilight mobs. If you can't use either reward, the necklace has a higher vendor price than the gloves. Comment by Allakhazam This quest sucks, the boss isn't too hard his adds were frost specced so I didn't get that god aweful fire shield burning me to hell.
On one hand Vyral is intelligent and diplomatic, on the other he thoroughly insane and cruel beyond measure — all traits necessary to gain power in the Twilight's Hammer. Vyral dresses in the manner of a high arcanist; his face is ever concealed beneath a hood, save for his glowing red eyes. Wowpedia Explore.
